Beyond the current practice depicts the relationship between intimacy and public space. This series of images were made in the public spaces that had sexual intercourse before — the spotlight is a metaphor of the imagination to the past, which explores diachronic and spatial experience.

Light, traditionally, refers to hope and the future. At some extents, the nature of photography is “recording” or “documenting” the has-had-been. I extend this concept to a social context which is about public sex in Hong Kong. I wonder what the reason for all these intimate actions that happened in public is, is it just because of enthusiasm, or lack of space.

Interestingly, the spotlight seems to offer a way to imagine the past. I am keen to know the moment that passed in order to get some inspiration for the future. No answer is found when I completed the project, but a glimpse of love and youth.
