Beyond the current practice depicts the relationship between intimacy and public space. This series of images were made in the places that had sexual intercourse before. The spot light represents the imagination to the past and it becomes a metaphor which is beyond time and space.
Light, traditionally, refers to hope and future. However, the nature of photography is “recording” or “documenting” the has-had-been. I extend this concept to a social context which is about public sex in Hong Kong. I wonder what is the reason of all these intimate actions happened in public, is it just because of enthusiasm, or the society in Hong Kong is in lack of space.
Interestingly, the spot light seems offer a way to imagine the past. I was keen to know the moment that passed in order to get some inspiration to the future. No answer is on my head even I completed the project, but a glimpse of love and youth.
